There are people who say this world is a messed up place But to me This world is filled with many reasons to live. People to take care of and people to love Places to save and places to look This world is generous to give. But sometimes we take more than we need And we never give heed to Earth's cries, never give heed. Sometimes we make our home a hard place to live. Still don't be so sad about the bad; We can always make it better, whenever, wherever. There are people who say this world is a messed up place But to me This world is filled with many reasons to live.

I can see my reflection Upon the turquoise waters. My endless depth Of my eyes- The dark hair- The pale skin. I walk along the shore The familiar Sure, hard-yet soft Tinkle of pebbles As I tread upon them. The water was so peaceful Carefree- Loving. Alas, I could not be the waves. I kneel by the wet sands The ancient pebbles. I felt warm rocks- Glowing with an invisible fire. Alas!, I cry And the rocks turn cold. The mocking imitation of me. O, how cursed be this land! The ironic rocks! The ice-cold water! As I drift away into a sleep I will never awake.
